IFATSEA AFRICA 2018 Closing Remarks

CLOSING REMARKS BY MS. CHARITY M MUSILA, DIRECTOR AIR NAVIGATION SERVICES ON BEHALF OF DIRECTOR GENERAL OF KENYA CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY, DURING CLOSING CEREMONY OF 8TH INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF AIR TRAFFIC SAFETY ELECTRONICS ASSOCIATIONS (IFATSEA) AFRICA REGIONAL MEETING AND CONFERENCE AT BOMA HOTEL, NAIROBI ON  2ND AUGUST, 2018.
Distinguished guests,
Participants
Ladies and gentlemen,

Good evening,
First and foremost I would like to convey KCAA Director General, Capt. Gilbert M Kibe’s apologies, who is not able to join us this evening due to pressing official commitments. That said, let me take this opportunity to thank you all for the enormous work put into the last two days. Special mention goes to the IFATSEA Team led by the able President Mr. Thorsten for being with us and ensuring that this Conference has delivered the objectives for which it was planned. Accolades go to our panelists, experts and key sponsors for job well done.

Ladies and gentlemen,
I am sure you were able to fully cover ground while deliberating on the new roles, responsibilities and operations of ATSEPs that touch on aviation safety; legal and regulatory frameworks that are available in ATSEP licensing among others. This conversation must not stop as we leave Nairobi but it should prepare a road map upon which the AFI Region and Global plan of action can borrow and be structured upon.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
As I conclude, I would like to recognize the efforts of the Local Organizing Committee and KATSEA leadership for creating an opportunity for us to network in this great forum. I am informed that we have a last agenda on menu which involves visiting key sites in Nairobi, let us all not leave in a huff but plan to participate in this event.

With those few remarks I wish to declare the 8th International Federation of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Associations (IFATSEA) Africa Regional Meeting and Conference officially closed.

Thank you, God bless you all and enjoy your journey back home.
